Ta-Nehisi Coates and the case for reparations

In this must read article, The Case for Reparations: An Intellectual Autopsy, by Ta-Nehisi Coates, he writes, “White supremacy does not contradict American democracy —it birthed it, nurtured it, and financed it. That is our heritage.” Martin Luther King Jr. said, “The evils of capitalism are as real as the evils of militarism and racism.” —(Source.) It's clear that fairness and equality for all Americans concerns us all and the sacrosanct pillars of capitalism and (lack of) democracy really need to be addressed.
